1. Information We Collect
The App allows you to upload or scan contracts and other documents for the purpose of analysis and comparison.
- Contract Data: When you upload or scan a document, its contents are temporarily processed to generate summaries, risk analysis, and comparisons.
- Device Information: We may collect basic, non-identifiable technical information (such as device type, operating system version, and app usage metrics) to improve performance and reliability.
- No Account Registration: The App does not require you to create an account or provide personally identifiable information such as your name, email, or payment details, unless specifically needed for app store purchases.
2. How Your Data Is Used
- AI Processing: Contract text is securely transmitted to OpenAI’s API for analysis and comparison. This enables the App’s key functionality, such as highlighting risks, obligations, and differences between contracts.
- Recommendation to Users: We strongly recommend redacting sensitive personal information (e.g., names, addresses, financial details, or signatures) before uploading documents. The App is intended for general contract language analysis and should not be used as a repository for confidential or regulated data.
- Temporary Storage: Contract data is processed only as needed to complete the analysis and is not permanently stored by Shepherdstack LLC beyond the session. OpenAI may log requests for service monitoring, abuse prevention, and other purposes in accordance with their policies.
3. OpenAI Content Sharing Agreement
Because this App relies on OpenAI services, you should be aware of OpenAI’s Content Sharing Agreement, which forms part of their Business Terms.
- OpenAI may use certain “Designated Content” provided by customers for research, development, evaluation, and training of their models (“Development Purposes”).
- Shepherdstack LLC does not designate your content for such purposes. However, you remain responsible for ensuring you have the rights, licenses, and permissions to provide any content to OpenAI through the App.
- By using the App, you acknowledge and agree not to provide sensitive, confidential, or proprietary information that you do not want OpenAI to use for Development Purposes. This includes protected health information (HIPAA), children’s personal data under 13, or other regulated categories of information.
- You also agree that any use of the Services is subject to OpenAI’s Content Sharing Agreement and Business Terms, which take precedence in the event of a conflict.

4. Sharing of Data
- With OpenAI: Contract content is shared with OpenAI solely to perform the requested analysis.
- No Sale of Data: We do not sell, rent, or trade your data to third parties.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose data if required by law or to comply with valid legal processes.
5. Data Security
We use secure transmission protocols (such as HTTPS) when sending contract data to OpenAI. While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no system can guarantee absolute security. For this reason, users are advised to avoid including unnecessary personal or sensitive data in documents uploaded to the App.
6. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Your Rights
